Substrate and blood-production

SVA (National veterinary institute) has made its own products since the start 1911. Today the products are used in a numerous of different laboratory procedures, and we have a comprehensive knowledge of the products and their field of use.
On account of being quality assured in accordance with SS-EN ISO 9001:2000, the production is done in accordance with established routines that place the client in focus. The production complies with strict and defined routines wich gives a high and uniform quality.
Substrateproduction at SVA concerns production of microbiological growth media, biological reagents, cellculture media and chemical solutions. For exampel different kinds of agar and broths, liquid balanced salt solutions, buffers and many more products.
We also produces bloodproducts from horse, cattle, sheep and hen at Håtunaholm, located near Sigtuna to the south of Uppsala. Production is from SVAs own, carefully controlled, herds and flocks. The products can be used either as whole blood or can be further processed into serum and plasma. The bloodproducts are also used in our own production of blood-agar plates and other media.
